The wildlife week has been observed in India since 1952and was first started by the Indian Board of Wild Life. The sole purpose of the wildlife week was to arouse a general awakening in the minds of people.
What's more special about this years Wildlife week is the fact that 3 major campaigns are taking place this year which are International Year of Forests (2011), Year of the Bat (2011-2012), and the UN Decade on Biodiversity (2011-2020).
With this in view we are planning to hold different activities during the course of the week. Please stay tuned. We will be putting up activity details very soon. All who are interested and more than welcome to take part.
